Swimming Lessons are re-starting

As we follow the guidelines set out by the government in their roadmap to recovery plan, we’re delighted to confirm that our leisure centres will be re-opening on Monday 12 April.

This means our Learn 2 Swim Programme and all swimming lessons for children will be able to start on this date. Adult swimming lessons will not be able to restart at this time due to restrictions outlined in the government’s roadmap to recovery plan.

We’re delighted to be able to welcome you back and get all our swimmers back in the water and learning to swim with us once again.

Unfortunately due to essential maintenance, there will be an upcoming closure that will mean Swinton & Pendlebury Leisure Centre pool will be closed towards the end of April for a short period of time. We will confirm dates for this work and what it means for your lessons ahead of the closure.

Lessons

We will be following the same procedures we had in place when we restarted lessons after previous lockdowns.

All lessons will return on the same day and time as before lockdown. So whichever stage your child attended for their last lesson, they will return to that class.

Remember to log into the Learn To Swim portal via the SCL app to check progress.

Payments

If you pay by direct debit, your first payment will be pro-rata’d based on your existing monthly payment date.

If you pay for lessons via a 10 week block pass, the remaining lessons you didn’t receive due to lockdown remain on your account so you haven’t missed out on any lessons.

If your child has lessons at Swinton & Pendlebury Leisure Centre, the amount of your next direct debit will be reduced to reflect the intended closure.

If you have any questions about your payments, please email collections@scll.co.uk.

What you need to know

We will be following the same guidance as per previous lockdowns. All our COVID secure procedures continue to be in place in our centres:

  • Additional cleaning measures in place
  • Masks must be worn in all areas of our centres when not taking part in an activity
  • Social distancing measures in place with limited numbers of customers in our centres at any one time and floor markers to help maintain the 2 metre rule.
