Learn more about this amazing building and its history from one of our knowledgeable guides on a family friendly tour of the Hall.

Join the Head Gardener at Ordsall Hall for a Bug Hunt.

Dress for the weather, as come rain or shine we will be outside looking for little creatures. While you’re outside try out our new Garden Trails, designed to be accessible for those with SEND.

Join our expert Heritage Facilitator, to learn ancient techniques for creating textiles.

Learn about weaving tablets, Nola Binding and Viking rope making (finger braiding). You can even have a go at the finger braiding yourself!

Recommended for ages 8 and over, however all ages welcome to drop into the demonstration.

Meet one of our Tudor ladies and find out. Have the chance to play with some toys from the past.

Come and join us in the Gardens of Ordsall Hall to build a Den with natural materials.

Get a lump of clay a clay and shape it in any way you want. If you like you can make a clay creature to add to the ones already living in the grounds of Ordsall Hall.

Taking inspiration from the portrait paintings hanging at Ordsall Hall, have a go at creating a portrait with a variety of materials. It can be a self-portrait, a portrait of an animal or of anything you want it to be!

Join the Head Gardener at Ordsall Hall to make seed balls.
Using clay and seeds gathered from the gardens, create a seed ball to take home. Choose where to ‘plant’ it in autumn for flowers in spring and summer.
