Did you know that in the UK the number of people with diabetes reaches 4.6 million?

Risk factors are high in people with Pre-diabetes or Non-Diabetic Hyperglycaemia (NDH), a condition where blood glucose levels are raised but not to the threshold of Type 2 Diabetes.

The good news for people with pre-diabetes is that they can prevent the development of Type 2 Diabetes by making dietary changes and increasing their level of physical activity.

In Salford, health partners are working hard to reduce the number of people developing Type 2 Diabetes.

GPs, Salford Royal Foundation Trust (SRFT) and other Health Care Providers refer people to the team, who run a FREE 12 week personalised exercise programme. Activities include supervised gym sessions, swimming, group exercise classes and many other sessions which are specifically designed for people that have been diagnosed with NDH.
