The benefits of becoming a volunteer for SCL:
- Satisfaction in helping others to access and enjoy the benefits of walking / becoming active.
- Training provided for the role.
- Support from the Jo Bennett in the volunteering role.
Public liability insurance through Salford Community Leisure / Ramblers.
What we would expect from the volunteer walk leader:
- Commitment to help lead a Wellbeing Walk for at least 6 months.
- Lead the walk as trained to do so.
- Ensure the safety of participants on the walk.
- Be available for 1.5 to 2hrs per week.
- Have a sound knowledge of the local area.
- Help research and risk assess suitable walking routes.
- Ensure any information from Jo Bennett is circulated to the walkers.
