From Mini Musical Theatre to our Senior Drama and Musical Theatre Ensembles, our Performing Arts Centre groups enable your child to take their first steps towards treading the boards.

While all Performing Arts Centre groups cater for a specific age group, there are no entry auditions or requirements and no prior performing arts experience is necessary!

Mini Musical Theatre

Thursdays

Age 4-7

Moorside High

Take those all important first steps in singing, dancing and acting as part of our Mini Musical Theatre group. Led by our Musical Theatre specialist, these sessions are jam packed with fun and are a sure fire way to ignite a lifelong love of musical theatre in all members.

Junior Musical Theatre

6.00 – 7.00pm

Age 7-11

Moorside High

The Junior Musical Theatre Company is one our best attended groups. Your Singing, dancing and acting will all be refined and developed through guidance from our team of expert tutors. Junior Musical Theatre Company performances are always a highlight of our MAPAS Centre Showcase Concerts. Members of the company are also involved in our full scale musical productions.

The Senior Musical Theatre Company is one of our premier groups. Your Singing, dancing and acting will all be refined and developed through guidance from our team of expert tutors. The companies full scale Musical productions are always a highlight of the MAPAS Calendar.

If you have a passion for acting and love to be on stage then come along to Junior Drama. You’ll be involved in all types of exciting activities to develop your acting skills and will be regularly involved in MAPAS Centre Showcase Concerts as well as a special ‘Theatre Spotlight’ performance each year.

MAPAS Movers (SEND)

Wednesday

Age 18-25

4.45 – 5.30pm

Classes consist of fun routines and activities that are designed so that everyone can join in and have a great time. These classes are suitable for everyone including wheelchair users and those with little mobility.

I feel like it's good to like have a place where you feel really safe to talk to people and, you know, there's people that like the same things as you to have the kind of space where I can learn, skills that are valuable and I can ask questions that won't be made fun of.
I think it's just really important for me and other people, anyone who wants to be an actor, to just have that space to really be themselves.
