Community is at the heart of everything we do. It’s so important to us, it’s even in our name.

At Salford Community Leisure, we are a not for profit community benefit society whose purpose is to ‘enhance people’s lives through leisure opportunities’. We exist to serve the needs of the community and enhance the lives of people through sport, leisure and cultural opportunities.

All of our profits are reinvested because we believe leisure and culture should be at the heart of every community. From our community centres, leisure centres and libraries that are the centre of local areas throughout Salford to the essential services we provide to residents across the city, community needs help shape our work.

Our venues act as community hubs for residents to get fit and active, access library services or meet and socialise with friends through local community groups. You’ll find our leisure centres, libraries and community centres dotted across the city and you can discover more about their services and facilities right here on our website.

We provide a huge range of community services, supporting young and old in the city. From our exercise referral programme delivered by our Active Lifestyles team to our youth engagement schemes SAYO / SPARKY and the Salford Youth Alliance. Our arts development team deliver a range of creative initiatives and volunteer programme enables locals to get experience and support our services.

Salford schools is an important community we work alongside, providing active education, library, music and performing arts through MAPAS and heritage learning programme services.

We also work closely with Salford City Council’s neighbourhood management teams across the city on a range of programmes and initiatives. Broughton to Swinton, Cadishead to Worsley, we serve all areas of the city.

With some much of our work focused on serving communities, you’re bound to find Salford Community Leisure services and activities taking place in your community.

We are always looking for volunteers to help us across our venues. Find out more about becoming a volunteer.
