We offer a comprehensive menu of options for schools to experience sporting activities, library services and music provision through our services. Our dedicated School Sports Coaching Team can deliver whole class curriculum PE and after school clubs to primary schools as part of a PPA package. Our successful school swimming programme provide lessons throughout the city and our specialist coaching classes offer opportunities to pupils to develop interest and talent in various sports including football, cricket, dance and gymnastics.

The watersports team at the Helly Hansen Watersports Centre also offer a wide range of educational and outdoor adventurous activities for schools from sailing, canoeing, climbing, problem solving activities, as well as orienteering activities on school sites.

Our Schools’ Library Service is on hand to provide project loans and many other children’s book resources to teachers. The team also organise the annual Salford Children’s Book Award which high schools are able to participate in.

And MAPAS offers a range of tuition that is designed to support schools in a way that can be as flexible as required, with tuition provided at various different levels. The team also arrange one-off-large-scale performances for schools to participate in, such as the Big Sing and Primary Schools Showcase at The Lowry.

Our Heritage Learning Programme for schools offers a wide range of stimulating and memorable facilitated sessions at our two stunning venues, Ordsall Hall and Salford Museum & Art Gallery all designed to inspire and engage young minds. Children can get hands-on with real museum objects in our curriculum-linked learning sessions, or explore our collections with downloadable resources – there’s so much on offer for school visits.
