Dolores and Chris will be discussing the local and regional impact of the Spanish Civil War.

They will talk about the volunteers inspired to fight for the Spanish Republic against what they saw as fascism. Dolores’ father, Sam Wild, was the celebrated Commander of the British Battalion in the International Brigades.

They will also speak of the impact on our communities here in the North West, and the incredible response by local people to the need for humanitarian aid, from local fundraising and sending food and medical supplies to taking in refugee children from the beleaguered Basque Country.

They will be asking the question, ‘Is the Spanish Civil War still relevant today? And what, if anything, can we learn from it?

FREE, booking required.

We are inviting anyone who feels able to donate to the International Brigade Memorial Trust.
