We deliver a variety of classes across Salford in a number of dance styles including, Street Dance, Ballet, Tap, Freestyle, Modern Jazz, Contemporary and movement and dance classes for young people and adults with a disability.
All young people that take part in Street, Ballet, Tap, Freestyle, Contemporary Modern Jazz dance classes are given the opportunity to take part in performers awards with the IDTA (International Dance Teachers Association). They are also given performance opportunities through showcases at The Lowry Theatre. We have award winning Theatre Dance Competitors and we have had performance opportunities with Blue Peter, the BBC and CBeebies.

During these fun filled classes, dancers are able to learn the fundamental skills of dance in a friendly and caring environment.
Combine movement and dance based activities to music to encourage agility, balance and coordination.
The Dance Development Team also provides classes for local Primary and Secondary Schools in a variety of dance styles including curriculum support and after school clubs. The team offer sessions for Private Nurseries that introduce the basic fundamentals of dance and movement in through fun and engaging dance activities.
The team specialise in tailoring classes for young people and adults with a disability. The team offer tailored sessions to Primary and Secondary schools that enhance the students co-ordination, balance, rhythm and creativity in a fun, friendly and encouraging environment. Community dance sessions are also available for young people and adults, these sessions focus not only on the physical benefits of dance and physical activity but also on the social aspect too.
The Dance Team also offer sessions for private day centres or closed groups, our current work includes providing tailored classes for people with Multiple Sclerosis. In addition to this, we also offer training and workshops for teachers, including professional teaching qualifications with the IDTA.
