MAPAS is determined to make every school in Salford a Singing School.
To that end, we offer advice on the development of singing as part of the curriculum across a range of subjects. Supporting schools to start and develop a choir is also an important part of the work of our team.
We are able to offer vocal tuition as part of our Instrumental Tuition package. We also have a team of experienced vocal tutors who can run your school choir. Alternatively, if you have a member of school staff who is willing to set up a choir but needs support or advice on where to start, you can always get in touch with us for help.
Once you have singing embedded into school life, we organise a range of events for singers throughout the year:
In the Autumn term we host festive Carols and Choirs.
In the Spring term we organise a Secondary School Choir Showcase.
In the Summer term we organise a Choral and Vocal festival, giving choirs, soloists and small groups of singers of all ages the opportunity to perform in front of peers and adjudicators for feedback in a friendly semi-competitive atmosphere.
