Our short story reading group offers a chance to discover a wide range of stories, and enjoy the mental health benefits of reading and sharing ideas with others in an informal, fun way.

Short stories can be read quickly and offer endless points for discussion: everyone’s responses are valued and no expertise is needed.

Led by Dr Mariana Casale, an experienced facilitator, bibliotherapist and passionate believer in the power of shared reading to promote connection and a sense of wellbeing.’

Mariana is a passionate believer in the mental health and well-being benefits of reading and of sharing our responses to what we read. No qualifications or prior knowledge of the stories or writers are necessary.

Meetings are fun and very informal and all contributions to discussions are valued equally and there is no pressure placed on participants to contribute.

Sessions run every 2 weeks on a Tuesday evening at 7:30pm on the following dates:

  • 9th & 23rd September
  • 7th & 21st October
  • 4th & 18th November
  • 2nd & 16th December

Suitable for ages 18 years and over.

£9 per session, booking required.
