The Combo Cup competition takes place every year and swimmers from all over the country compete in their teams to win as many points for their club as possible, in order to win the overall Combo Cup trophy.
First up was the age 13-18 team where 10 Salford swimmers swam an energetic “Supermodel” themed routine and with excellent scores they were awarded the silver medal.
Salford’s youngest squad then replicated this success earning another silver medal with their “Cat” themed routine in the 12&under division 1 section.
The 15 & under squad added a bronze with an excellent score of 122.0550 for their “Happy” routine.
It was a big ask but the 15-18 squad swam their “Mamma Mia” routine and closed Salford’s 2025 Combo Cup campaign in STYLE!!
Team Salford raised the roof of Ponds Forge Aquatics Centre when the results of the 15-18 event was announced and Salford had taken the GOLD.
With a total of 32 points City of Salford were crowned Combo Cup CHAMPIONS for 2025!
Alongside the synchro achievements, Salford’s competitive juniors were also collecting medals with international success.
Lena Ramanah-Beck brought home a Gold medal from the Hungarian Open in Budapest with the England Youth Squad, and Sophie Rowney finished 4th and 10th in the Team events at the Junior European Championships in Athens, Greece.
Amelie Blocksidge retained her European Junior title in the 1500 Freestyle, setting a new British Junior Record. Amelie was also selected to swim for GBR at the World Junior Championships to be held in Otopeni, Romania August 19-24th.
