Salford Creative Health Network Meeting

Shaping how culture and creativity can improve wellbeing in Salford.

The next Salford Creative Health Network meeting is on Wednesday 7 October 2026, from 10am to 12pm at Pendleton Gateway in the Community Rooms.

• This meeting is for any health and social care services in the city – along with community groups and arts organisations.
• If you’ve had personal experience of creativity improving your wellbeing – then we’d love you to join the Network.
• Members of lived-experience forums are especially welcome, as are artists and creative practitioners.

The focus of this meeting is on mapping the Salford Creative Health ecosystem.

We want to create a visual map of the Salford Creative Heath Ecosystem. In addition to identifying creative practitioners, organisations and groups – we also want to explore how these connect to all the wider health and social care partners and agendas in the city. Who are the strategic health partners who need to know about our work? Which partners regularly attend the Network meetings, and who is missing? How does creative health balance connecting to life-course programmes (such as Start Well, Live Well and Age Well) with having a neighbourhood approach? Which organisations or groups in our city focus on prevention and early intervention? And who in Salford offers more therapeutic support for longer-term conditions perhaps in clinical settings – where does this happen? What are the other Networks across the city that creative health needs to connect with – how do we network the networks? Rather than just focusing on mapping organisations and groups – we particularly want to think about what connects us all. What are the links/arrows/routes of communication, and how do we reinforce the scaffolding or connective tissue that links us all?

We’re particularly keen to invite people to this session who know the Salford ‘system’ – even if creative health isn’t your area of work. Please come along to share your expertise. This meeting on 7 October is a great chance to share your understanding of how Salford works – and to figure out how we can all work better together. The creative lead for the session is artist Stewart Knights – who is also a Live Well Development Worker in Little Hulton.

• Pendleton Gateway is very close to Salford Shopping Centre. There is easy access to public transport across the road from the centre. Salford Crescent railway station is also nearby. There is a pay and display car park at the front of the building – including 10 x blue badge spots.

• There is also the option for people who cannot physically attend this meeting to join online. But we do encourage those who can attend to join us in person.
• At the Gateway, there are accessible toilets on all floors with a hoist in the ground floor toilet
• Automatic door (on the press of a button) at the main entrance. Hearing loop at the ground floor reception. Portable hearing loop available
• Ten bays for disabled parking at the front of the building.
