Finding time to exercise as a new parent or carer can be difficult. You’re tired and you may be struggling for childcare, so investing in your own health can often be put on the back burner.

The physical and mental benefits of exercise are well known, and these benefits can be of particular importance during mentally and physically challenging times in life like having a new born.

According to the NHS, regular activity can relax you, keep you fit and help you feel more energetic. It can also help new mothers’ bodies recover after childbirth and may help prevent postnatal depression.

At SCL we offer child friendly classes including spinning, Metafit and circuits plus a brand new child friendly Legs, Mums and Tums class in safe and welcoming environments for new parents and carers to train alongside their children. And in addition to the health benefits of the class, they are also a great opportunity to meet other new parents or carers.

For details of our child friendly classes, please take a look at our class timetable.
