We want to make sure you know when you can visit our SCL venues during the festive season. Please find below the opening hours for each of our locations across the city.

Leisure Centres

All leisure centres will close at their usual opening hours on Sunday 24th December (Christmas Eve)*. Some of our leisure centres (Irlam & Cadishead, Clarendon and Worsley) will be open in between Christmas and New Year. All other leisure centres will re-open as normal on Tuesday 2nd January 2024.

Libraries

All libraries will be open as normal up until Saturday 23rd December.

Broughton, Eccles, Pendleton, Swinton and Walkden libraries will be open on:

  • Wednesday 27th to Friday 29th December, 10am-2pm
  • Saturday 30th December, 9am-1pm (except Broughton)

All libraries will re-open as usual on Tuesday 2nd January 2024.

Museums & Galleries

Ordsall Hall will close at 4pm on Thursday 21st December. Salford Museum & Art Gallery will close at 4pm on Friday 22nd December. Both venues will re-open on Tuesday 2nd January 2024 at their usual opening times.

Salford Watersports Centre

Salford Watersports Centre will be closed from Friday 22nd December, re-opening on Tuesday 2nd January 2024.

*Due to refurbishments taking place:

  • The gym and studio at Broughton Leisure Centre will be closed from Monday 4th December. The swimming pool, sauna and steam room will be unaffected by the works.
  • The gym at Eccles Leisure Centre will be closed from Monday 11th December. The swimming pool and studio will be unaffected by the works.

Broughton Leisure Centre will re-open on Tuesday 2nd January and Eccles Leisure Centre will re-open on Thursday 4th January 2024.
