On Monday 24 October, local Boothstown resident Beryl Howard was commemorated at Boothstown Community Centre with a tree being planted in her honour.

Having been a local Councillor for many years, Beryl championed Boothstown, helping to ensure it was a happy and enjoyable place to live. Beryl led on the organisation of a number of events and activities that were enjoyed by young and old alike.

Speaking at the event, Mayor Cllr Humphries commented on the huge impact that Beryl had on the area and the number of lives that she touched.

Beryl is survived by her husband Michael who also shared his thanks to the local community for honouring Beryl.

Everyone at Salford Community Leisure would like to thank those involved in planning and funding this lovely way to honour such a cherished and wonderful local resident including the Friends and users of Boothstown Community Centre, volunteer gardening group and local businesses M&A Brown Signs and Sainsbury’s local.
