Wednesday 23 September is National Fitness Day.
National Fitness Day is the most active day of the year and the day to celebrate the role that physical activity plays across the UK. It is a day when people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities come together to celebrate the fun of fitness.
Once again, we’re proud to support this national initiative. We have a number of ways members can get involved and a great offer for new members too.
From Monday 21 – Sunday 27 September we’re offering No Joining Fee on all SCL memberships.
It’s a great offer that saves new members £10. So, if you’re looking to begin your fitness journey with us, then now is a great time to start. Search through our options and find the right membership for you, join before Sunday 27 September.
Or, if you’re already a member and know a friend or family member that would love to join and benefit from being more active, then share and tell them about our No Joining Fee Offer.
To celebrate National Fitness Day, we’re offering 3 fantastic FREE classes at Ordsall Leisure Centre. Come and join us and try something new, with Olympic Lifting and Grit Strength sessions.
Perfect if you’re just starting out, looking to improve your technique, or simply want to add to your current fitness regime. Sessions will be tailored for attendees, focused on foundation work and dead lifts. Come down have a go.
A 30-minute high-intensity interval training (HIIT) workout, designed to improve strength, cardiovascular fitness and build lean muscle. This workout uses barbell, weight plate and bodyweight exercises to blast all major muscle groups. It takes cutting-edge HIIT and combines it with powerful music and inspirational coaches who will be down on the floor with you, motivating you to go harder to get fit, fast.
Both sessions will be led by SCL instructor Chris Smith. Sessions are open to SCL members and non-members.
If you have a story about your fitness journey and want to share it, we’d love to hear it. Just take a short video of yourself and tell us what fitness means to you. Use the hashtag #Fitness2Me then post on social media and tag our accounts into your post:
We’ll then share them across our social media channels!
Enjoy National Fitness Day!
