Refurbishment at Clarendon Leisure Centre – February 2024

Notification of temporary closure at Clarendon Leisure Centre in 2024

There are some exciting changes coming to Clarendon Leisure Centre this year commencing February 2024.

We’ll be carrying out work to:

• Replace boilers
• Resurface and remark the car park
• Extend the gym
• Introduce brand new state of the art Matrix cardio equipment
• Redecorate

Unfortunately, because of the extent of building works required, this means that the centre will have full and part closures between February and April 2024 as follows:

• The centre will close on Monday 19th February for approximately 6 weeks to allow for the boiler replacement work to be undertaken.
• The pool is scheduled to re-open in early April. Work will then take place on the gym refurbishment and sports hall.
• The sports hall and the gym will then re-open consecutively in mid-April.
• The exact dates for the squash court and studio to be confirmed.

Exact dates for the phased re-opening will be communicated nearer to the time.

As a result of the gym extension, the sports hall will re-open with two courts rather than the previous four courts. During the closure, you can continue to book badminton courts at Eccles, Irlam & Cadishead and Swinton & Pendlebury Leisure Centres.
