In partnership with The Reading Agency, this year’s Challenge is called Marvellous Makers and it’s all about creativity! From dance to drawing, junk modelling to music, there’s something for everyone.
This year’s theme has been developed in partnership with a leading arts charity, Create. So, we’re challenging 4–11 year old readers to embark on an adventure and complete the Summer Reading Challenge.
Children must be members of Salford Libraries to take part. It’s free to join and when you do you will receive a collector’s folder to complete throughout the summer.
To complete the challenge, you need to visit the library three times over the summer, reading 6 books in total, choosing up to three books on the first and second visit. Along the way, you’ll get lots of fun goodies including stickers to mark your progress. On the third and final visit, when you have read all 6 books and finish the challenge, you will take home a certificate and medal.
We offer so many ways to read books, from the newest titles at your local library, to reading or listening to books using our BorrowBox app and ordering your books online to collect at the library. So, start reading with us now!
Need reading inspiration? We’ve got a special tailor-made book collection so that you can find the right book.
Don’t forget to share your progress with us on social media via Facebook, X and Instagram using the hashtag #MarvellousMakers.
