Congratulations are in order for the City of Salford Synchronised Swim Team, who were crowned National Youth Team Champions (age 13 – 15) at the Artistic Swimming National Age Group Championships on  the 25th and 26th March. This is the first time ever the team have won a team gold medal at this championship level! Congratulations Sophie Flemming, Frankie Derbyshire, Lotti Horsman, Ailsa Fox, Lena Ramanah-Beck, Neve Lambert and Grace Jenkins!

More fantastic achievements came out of the weekend including a national bronze medal for the Youth Duet (age 13-15), and in the Solo category, Lena Ramanah-Beck finished 5th overall and Sophie Flemming finished 10th overall out of 127 swimmers!

In the 12 & under Duet event, the team’s youngest swimmers Abbie Pullen, Zosia Holyniewska and Reserve athlete Eleanor Burlinson – all aged 12, finished in a fantastic 6th place – the first time in 6 years there has been Salford representation in this event.

Jessica Fletcher, Head Coach says ‘I’m so proud of all of the girls hard work and commitment, their fantastic results speak for themselves. Their passion for synchro, teamwork and friendship shine through and we are all so happy for the team’.

Congratulations are also in order for the City of Salford Swimming Club!

Back from making waves at the British Championships, Amelie Blocksidge brought home the title in the 1500 metre Freestyle becoming the British champion at just 14 years old! Not only that, she also broke the British age group record with her performance.

The whole team gave incredible performances – congratulations to Katie Lee, Gabby McCulloch, Joseph Stout, Alex Volkovoy, Ella Blocksidge, Jamie Ross and Connor Hartley.  For full details check out the COS Facebook page of the full list of achievements at the Championships!
