Lancashire Championships

City of Salford SC became Top Club in Lancashire for the 4th successive year – a title that we have won many times over the past 23 years such has been the dominance of our programme in the county. This is particularly encouraging as we have experienced a huge challenge rebuilding our development section post-Covid and continue to do so.

Our Group A stalwarts have been strongly supported with great performances by Group B swimmers and younger swimmers breaking through into finals from Groups C and D.

It has been a tremendous performance from our swimmers to retain this title. As coaches we are very proud to help the club continue this success. Over the two weekends, we achieved a colossal total of 126 medals (Gold – 59 Silver – 35 Bronze – 33).

To cap off a great weekend, Amelie Blocksidge received the award for top swimmer in Lancashire 2023 and the Salford swimmers representing Lancashire at the inter-county championships (Luke Aitken, Alice Volkovaya, Lucia Lesti and Oli Bottomley) were recognised and given awards.

Big thanks to you all and to the parents, swimmers and coaches who have helped maintain many years of success for the club. We shall continue the hard work in keeping up the recognition for our city and our club – Salford.
