Often known as ‘water ballet,’ Artistic Swimming combines elements of dance, gymnastics, swimming and cheerleading into a highly technical sport.
Here in Salford, our Synchronised Swimming Club (City of Salford SSC) is based at Irlam and Cadishead Leisure Centre and is home to beginner synchro swimmers right up to International Athletes.
The club operates within our Competitive Training Scheme (CTS) and swimmers from stage 5 upwards are invited to join. The sport is open to both boys and girls and there is no age limit. Swimmers must be able to swim 50m competently and be comfortable underwater to perform handstands and forward rolls.
