Music And Performing Arts Salford (MAPAS) is part of Salford Community Leisure who are committed to enhancing the lives of people across Salford.

We are looking for tutors across all instruments including Piano, Brass, Strings, Woodwind, Guitar & Ukulele, Percussion, Vocal, Drama, Musical Theatre and Music Curriculum.
Tutors will be expected to deliver a variety of tuition styles, depending on their discipline, which could include individual or small group tuition, large group or Whole Class Instrumental Tuition (WCIT), and ensemble leading. They will be responsible for designing and delivering their own schemes of work. The role offers flexibility in teaching methodology and lesson planning and there are support, advice and development opportunities available.
Tutors will be expected to keep up to date on safeguarding procedures within an educational setting as well as developments in educational pedagogy and inclusive practices including I.D.E.A and LGBT+ awareness.
Relevant musical and teaching experience is essential. Some evening work may be offered and the ability to travel between schools and other venues is essential.
Successful applicants will be engaged on a self-employed basis and therefore responsible for their own tax and National Insurance arrangements, hold a current DBS certificate and Public liability Insurance.
Tutors must complete a probationary period during the first six months of working with Music and Performing Arts Salford, after which, pay rates rise to the higher bracket.

We have an exciting position available for a Freelance Postural Stability Instructor. The aim of the Postural Stability programme is to support people at risk of falling by improving their balance, strength and stamina and help to maintain independence.
This role will be an integral part of the Active Lifestyles team and the successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of postural stability classes across the city. This will include data inputting and other administration associated to the post.
The Freelance Postural Stability Instructor will also be responsible for contributing towards monitoring, evaluation, and reporting requirements for the postural stability service.
In addition to consistently demonstrating SCL’s core values, the successful candidate will be expected to be enthusiastic, motivated and have the ability to communicate to colleagues and customers at all levels, and have an interest in physical activity and the benefits it can have to those being referred to the project. They will be a dynamic member of the Active Lifestyles Team and be willing to contribute to the development and expansion of the project whilst maintaining a high-quality service which follows best practice.
