Did you know that out of our 300+ group exercise classes, some start as early as 6:15am for those early risers all the way through to evenings. Ever wondered what the best time of day to work out is?

Well, firstly, it should be one that you can do consistently and that works best for you. Everyone’s lifestyle, work patterns and preferences are different. However, there are some key benefits to working out in the morning:

  • As well as setting you up for the day and giving you a sense of achievement, there are fewer distractions before the phone starts ringing or emails come in.
  • Working out can help you make healthier food choices throughout the day and feel energised
  • Feeling fatigued? Early morning exercise helps reduce fatigue and increase energy levels all day long.
  • Physical activity increases focus and concentration, so a morning workout may improve your output at work.

David Parkin, an SCL instructor and personal trainer gives his advice:

“My top tip would be to vary your classes to get the maximum benefit. Mix things up and keep things fresh – if you’re a regular at Body Pump then give HIIT Step a try, or if you’re a regular at Sprint give Spin Sculpt a go etc. Change brings change. Use the varied timetable to your advantage”.
