Book a Class Visit

We welcome school groups for a fun, engaging visit designed to help children discover everything their local library has to offer.

The aim of the visit is to encourage children to visit the library again in their own time and to develop a love of reading. We want to make sure that every child feels stories and books are fun and that the library is an exciting and enjoyable place for everyone.

What to expect

• Children will be enthusiastically welcomed into the library, and encouraged to relax, explore and make as much noise as they like.
• Each child will be given a free library pack to take home.
• Free browsing time: Children can explore the shelves, discover new authors, and choose books that interest and excite them.
• Take part in a fun library quiz.
• Simple activities to spark their love of reading.
• Borrowing books will not be possible during the visit itself, but children are welcome to set books aside and will be encouraged to return again outside of school hours.
