As well as instrumental provision, MAPAS work with a group of specialised and experienced tutors who are able to assist in delivery of music curriculum tuition at primary, secondary and further education levels.
Tutors can be booked to teach weekly sessions to different year groups depending on your need.
Curriculum Support in your School
MAPAS can offer advice and guidance for your school on specific music curriculum issues including discussing the recently published Music Model Curriculum. We can meet with your music coordinator to discuss how music curriculum is delivered in your school and help to identify any support needs. After the initial meeting, MAPAS can provide a bespoke service to support your school further. This could be support with planning and assessment or staff training workshops to support whole class music delivery.
Workshops
MAPAS tutors are also available to offer bespoke workshops, using music to bring other areas of the Curriculum to life. From Romans to Tudors, we can help your school design specific workshops to suit your needs. Alongside topic based workshops, we also offer a range of workshops to develop musical skills, such as Samba, African Drumming and singing.
Curriculum Software for your Teachers
MAPAS have strong links with a software company called Charanga. Charanga is an online resource for schools to aid their music curriculum delivery. Suitable for musicians and non-music specialists, it provides a vast library of songs, topics, instrument courses and creative apps to help your school reach its musical potential. The annual cost grants each school as many staff log-in accounts as you require, so it can also be used by visiting music teachers. Training courses are also offered throughout the year and you can trial the software completely free for one month.
