Our swimmers from the City of Salford Synchronised Swimming Club and SCL Training Programme have just returned from the Artistic Swimming National Age Groups Championships in Gloucester with 3 National Titles and many more successes!

The squad made up of 8 swimmers in the 13-15 Age Group and 5 swimmers in the 9-12 Age Group brought back medals in every event they entered and made club history with their most successful National Age Group Championships since their very first entry in 2013.

On day 1 of the competition, Eleanor Burlinson won a bronze medal in the 13-15 Figure event (out of 162 competitors!) and sister Tess Burlinson won silver in the 12&u Figure event.
All other Salford swimmers did fantastically well in these events.

Eleanor teamed up with Zosia Holyniewska to win another silver in the 13-15 Duet event.

The 2 Salford Combination teams then won a Gold each in their respective Age groups and took 2 National Titles to end day 1 of the competition.

On day 2, Tess Burlinson took bronze in the 9-12 solo, Zosia Holyniewska finished 4th (only 1.1 points outside the medals) in the 13-15 solo event and Eleanor Burlinson was crowned National 13-15 Solo Champion!

In the final event of the competition, Salford won a fantastic Silver medal in the Free team event taking the total to 3 golds, 3 silvers and 2 bronze.

Eleanor Burlinson was also awarded the prestigious Shacklock trophy – awarded to the swimmer with their highest score across all their routines.

Well done to all involved!
