SCL Dance is proud to celebrate the achievements of three remarkable dancers: Emily, Evie and Jasmin. They have grown up and progressed through their dance classes, moved into volunteering, and have now become fully fledged teachers.
All three have recently gained their Associate Street Dance Teaching qualification with the International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA), each passing with distinction, the highest grade possible.
Emily, Evie and Jasmin began their journeys with SCL as children, training, performing and competing in a wide range of styles. Their dedication and love for dance has brought them full circle. Now, they’re ready to pass on their knowledge and inspire the next generation of dancers.
Emily began dancing at just 2½ years old when she joined SCL’s very first Baby Ballet class. She has since trained in many genres and represented the school across the Northwest in Street Dance, Theatre and Contemporary teams.

Her talent has earned recognition, including a nomination for the IDTA Theatre Dance Awards 2025 in Contemporary Modern Jazz; an honour open only to the top 10% of dancers nationwide. Emily’s journey has shaped her into a skilled performer and a role model for younger students.
“Since starting baby ballet classes at SCL from the age of 2, I have gained so much more than my dance ability. I have gained so many life skills which have shaped me into the person I am today. I am excited to pass on my knowledge to the young dancers at SCL and watch them grow up through dance the same way I did.”

Evie began dancing with SCL at the age of 4, excelling in Ballet, Tap and Modern Jazz. From an early age she also discovered a love for teaching, and began volunteering in Saturday morning Baby Ballet classes as soon as she could.

She has since grown into a key member of the team, helping deliver sessions and developing her own teaching style. Today, Evie is central to Saturday mornings, bringing encouragement, patience and energy to every class.
“I cherish the lifelong friendships that I have made over the my time with SCL dance and the many opportunities that it has given me. I am delighted to be able to teach and develop the next generation of SCL Dancers.”

Jasmin first came to SCL after being spotted at an after-school club and invited to join weekly Street Dance classes. She soon flourished, developing her own distinctive street style and going on to win awards as part of the SCL Street Dance Crew.

More recently, Jasmin worked alongside senior teachers to choreograph and produce routines for SCL Dance’s Street Dance Show at The Lowry Theatre; a huge milestone in her journey as a young teacher.
“My time at SCL Dance has given me lifelong friendships, unforgettable memories and knowledge that I will carry with me throughout my dance journey. I am looking forward to developing my street dancers. I cannot wait to see what their future in dance brings for them.”

The progression of Emily, Evie and Jasmin is a perfect example of SCL Dance’s vision; to nurture dancers from their very first class, guide them through performance and competitive opportunities, and create pathways into not only the arts but also teaching and leadership.
Now fully qualified and officially part of the SCL teaching team, these three young women embody the organisation’s values of dedication, creativity, and community. Their journey proves that with the right support, passion for dance can turn into a lifelong career.
SCL Dance could not be prouder of Emily, Evie and Jasmin. We are excited to see them inspire and shape the dancers of tomorrow.
