Another huge achievement for Amelie Blocksidge!

Amelie Blocksidge has been selected to swim for GBR at the World Short Course Championships in Budapest, Hungary, making her one of the youngest swimmers ever to represent GBR at a World Championship at just 15 years old. Before this, she will travel to Rotterdam with the GBR Youth Team next week.

Amelie has also won the GB Aquatics Emerging Athlete of the Year award. At just 14/15 years old, she has achieved remarkable success, including:

  • 3 Gold medals at the Euro Juniors in the 14-18 age category
  • Defending her European Junior Open Water title
  • Being a British Senior Champion at 14 and 15 years
  • Setting multiple British Age Group Records
  • Becoming the fastest-ever 14/15-year-old in the 400, 800, and 1500 metre events

Amelie’s journey from the Salford Community Leisure Learn to Swim Scheme to the GB Junior and Senior Teams marks her as a history-making talent. Well done, Amelie!
