Relay swimmers from the City of Salford Swimming Club; Luke Adams, Joe Stout, Luke Hoey, Ryan Sanders, and Ewan Wilson headed to Sheffield in October with one goal, national success!
Despite the challenges, including 3 out of the 5 swimmers being retired for months and 3 having never won a national medal before, the team showed incredible resilience, determination, and self-motivation, often training around work commitments.
On race day, their hard work paid off with impressive results:
They came incredibly close to breaking the British record in the 4x100m IM relay, setting a fantastic target for next year. But beyond the medals, the team raced with passion, for each other and for their love of the sport.
This meet was a reminder that even when it seems like your best days are behind you, incredible achievements are still possible. The team’s performance will be remembered for years to come, and we couldn’t be prouder of their effort and success!
John Stout, Head Coach said:
“Really proud of the lads, it’s been a fantastic meet and one that will live long in the memories. It’s a privilege coaching you all.”
Another outstanding achievement for the club and the city of Salford.
